Truyền thuyết xưa kể rằng: khi một người trẻ tuổi muốn chứng minh được sự trưởng thành, họ phải bước qua một cổng thử thách bằng lửa nóng nằm hướng về phía Đông vào lúc giao điểm của ngày và đêm. Bước qua cửa ấy, họ đã thực sự trưởng thành và có đủ bản lĩnh để vững bước vào đời. Người ta gọi tên cánh cửa đó là “Cổng mặt trời”.

“Thế nhưng đối với 11 bạn trẻ trong phim thì “Cổng mặt trời” không chỉ là một truyền thuyết đã ngủ yên. Cuộc hội ngộ vô tình của 5 chàng sinh viên dí dỏm trọ trong căn nhà cuối hẻm với 6 cô gái đáng yêu sống trong căn gác gỗ có giàn hoa ti-gôn trước cổng, đã làm nên những câu chuyện hữu ý về bản lĩnh của tuổi trẻ hôm nay.

Vô vàn những câu chuyện bi hài về cuộc sống sinh viên như chuyện sống thử, chuyện làm gia sư, xung đột gia đình, nhiễm bệnh nghề nghiệp… xảy ra với từng nhân vật, trải đều trong từng tập phim đã phản ánh chân thực cuộc sống thực tế mà các bạn trẻ ngày nay đang gặp phải.

Ai sẽ là người đi qua được “Cổng mặt trời” để vững bước trên con đường kiếm tìm bình yên hạnh phúc?...
